Orphaned children that otherwise would have no start in life can find shelter, love, care and proper education. In the post WW II Europe, children do not know the suffering other kids have to endure.

If we, like the birds do, weave nests for our children and then provide for them; what more do we do than they? Instinctively all animals act in the same way. If you gather only for your own children, for the family and the insecure future then you have not risen above the ordinary animal trait, which all of us are born with. But we can rise above the oridnary.
